Reply with quote | #1 | I am 40 years old, recently remarried and we have been trying to conceive. I have had two successful pregnancies (age 20, 19) and in April 09 had a blighted ovum. My husband is on Testosterone replacement therapy, which we have been told could reduce the sperm count. We have been trying since the miscarrage in April without success. We are looking for any information reguarding the next steps to follow considering the advanced age, miscarrage and the testosterone replacement. Any information you can provide will be most appreciated.
Thank you |

Reply with quote | #2 | Thanks for the message. I would recommend a consult where we could check his semen analysis (would need to be scheduled ahead of time - Kristy can work out the details) and blood work to evaluate your egg quality. If all looks good, we could discuss treatment options due to your advancing age. If his count is low, he'll need to stop the testosterone. Hope this helps. If you want an appointment, call Kristy to schedule the visit and the semen analysis for the same day. Blessings. __________________ Jeffrey L. Deaton, M.D.

We had a semen analysis done showing no sperm. He has now stopped the testosterone injections. Are there further steps you would suggest he could take to help sperm production return? Thank you. |

Reply with quote | #4 | Unfortunately, time is all that helps. He should recover in 8-12 weeks. __________________ Jeffrey L. Deaton, M.D.
